Front 6 piston and rear 4 piston caliper BBK auto brake system For MG7 19 inch rim
The MG7 is a mid-size sedan that was built by MG Motor between 2007 and 2013, derived from its British predecessors, Rover 75 and MG ZT to suit Chinese manufacturing and sales. The name was resurrected in 2022 with the launch of the second generation MG7.
The MG7 is available in two different ICE-powered versions, with plug-in hybrid options rumored to follow next year. The entry-level 300 VTGI is fitted with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine producing 183 hp (136 kW / 185 PS) and 300 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front axle through a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Those who want more performance should opt for the pictured 405 VTGI Trophy, coming with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 254 hp (189 kW / 257 PS) and 405 Nm of torque. The more potent motor is exclusively mated to a nine-speed ZF automatic gearbox, again sending power to the front axle. The vehicle is also equipped with an electronic limited-slip differential and an electronically controlled suspension.
The MG7 is posh and sleek in design with design elements reminiscent of the Mustang Mach-E and Audi e-tron GT. The car sits slightly longer than an Audi A5, giving extra rear legroom and plenty of interior space. The MG7 design has taken inspiration from the new MG4 EV, which has also sees sleek lines and interesting angular elements. However, the fully electric MG4 sits in the hot hatch class, compared to the larger and longer MG7.
The car, which is the largest MG sedan will be the headline car for the new MG Black Label range that will focus on luxury. Black Label range cars will focus on interesting, sporty design and innovative technology which is clear in the car's sleek lines and shaping. They will also get black trim and black MG badges.
Despite the streamlined look of an EV car, the MG7 is set to have a two-litre petrol engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, there may be a high-performing plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in the works.
