The Volkswagen Lamando is a compact sedan manufactured by Volkswagen through its joint venture SAIC Volkswagen in China. It debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show in August 2014 and was launched in China in November 2014. The Lamando is positioned as the low-slung version of the Sagitar (Jetta outside China) in the country, as it is the case with the Volkswagen CC to the Passat.

Volkswagen defines Lamando as "the first wide-body coupe". It is built on the MQB platform, equipped with EA888 TSI and EA211 TSI engines, and adopts a dry 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Focusing on high-end products, it is a sports compact car positioned between the Lavida and Passat.

In terms of appearance, there are only some minor changes between the Lamando and the concept version, but the shape is still very sporty. The front face adopts a family-style design, with a three-horizontal spoke grille connected to the headlights, and round fog lights arranged on both sides of the bumper. The side lines of the new car are very smooth, and the straight and deep waistline extends to the rear of the car, which is very impressive. At the rear of the car, the lower end of the bumper adopts a two-color design, and the black color combination can highlight a sporty atmosphere.

The interior of SAIC Volkswagen Lamando also adopts Volkswagen's latest design style. The steering wheel adopts a new three-spoke multi-function steering wheel style, and the instrument panel has a dual dial style with a 3.5-inch color screen sandwiched in the center. In addition, the center console of the new car has a very regular layout, with a 6.5-inch LCD screen in the center, an air-conditioning control area at the bottom, and two polygonal air outlets at the top.

In terms of power, Lamando offers two power systems to choose from. The 1.4TSI engine is matched with a 7-speed DSG gearbox; the 1.8TSI engine is matched with a 6-speed DSG gearbox. Its maximum power is 220 horsepower and the acceleration time from 0-100km/h is around 6.5 seconds.

The T-shaped design center console is raised as a whole and deflected accurately by 6.769°. The height of the central tunnel is increased by 46mm, and the center console extends downwards to wrap around the driver. While creating a coupe-style driving experience, it also improves the driver's comfortable sitting posture.
